WUMER worked with Barrett Fromme, Associate Dean for Faculty Development in Medical Education, and other UChicago faculty to organize the inaugural International Medical Educators Program (IMEP) from July 8-19, 2019. The purpose of the program is to train leaders in curricular development and teaching skills in China, as well as strengthen relationships with key partners in the region. Ten participants were hand-selected from Peking Union Medical College Hospital, Zhongnan Hospital of Wuhan University, Renmin Hospital of Wuhan University, and the First Affiliated Hospital of Sun Yat-Sen University. All participants brought ideas of educational projects to carry out and refined them under UChicago faculty mentorship throughout IMEP. They will be expected to implement their projects upon returning to their home institutions with follow up site visits from UChicago faculty.
